Josh Update

Just talked to Josh and he is actually leaving on Wednesday and will fly to Paris and then on to Malaga.  He said that means there's time for packages.  :-)

POWDER DAY

Yes, I took Adam and Rebecca out of school to go skiing... and it was a great day!!  7 inches of new powder, good weather, and NO people.  We had a great time.  No, I don't have any pictures because I was too busy skiing.  :-)  Adam and Rebecca took us down a lot of black diamond runs and with the deep powder, I am exhausted but happy.  Tanner and Rachel couldn't miss school but I believe they are planning to miss a little bit tomorrow so they can go up and watch Sean White in the Snowboard Finals.   Lots of fun.

Josh is Back at the MTC. What?

I got a call from David's sister, Julie, yesterday.  She lives in San Antonio where Josh has been temporarily reassigned while waiting for his visa to Spain.  She also happens to have a friend (an older couple) who is currently assigned to the San Antonio Mission Office (so she's a spy    haha).  Anyway, this friend called Julie yesterday and told her that Josh got his visa and would be leaving today.  WOW!

After a few more calls with Julie and a call from the mission president this morning, I got the whole story.  Josh actually flew back to Salt Lake today and Julie got permission for her and her family to go see him off at the airport.  THEY ARE SO LUCKY!!!  He will go to the Spain Consulate tomorrow, stay at the MTC for the weekend and then leave for Spain on Monday.  I am so excited for him.  I really thought it would be a little longer but I'm glad that it's all happening quickly.  Hopefully he'll get to call us before he leaves on Monday.

Phineas and Ferb

If you don't know who Phineas and Ferb are then you may not appreciate this post.  It happens to be Adam's favorite cartoon series (mine too... it is so funny).  They have a pet called Perry the Platypus who is a secret spy.   Adam wanted to have his room all orange but we settled for one wall with a Phineas and Ferb theme.  I finally finished the quilt I made him last week and so now his room is all done.  Below are a few pictures that try to capture the feel of the room.  It turned out really fun.

THE LAST BAPTISM

Our youngest child got baptized last Saturday.  What a wonderful day it was!  He was baptized by his older brother, Tanner.  Very special.  We had lots of family members including aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and sibling attend.  Friends and neighbors also joined us and I think Adam knew he was truly loved and supported as he made this important decision.  It's hard to believe that he is my youngest and is already 8 years old.  Wasn't it just yesterday that he was born?  Oh my how time flies.

DECEMBER - What a month!!

Our oldest son, Jared, got married to Tori Blonquist on December 20, 2012.  What a wonderful day and we are so happy to have Tori as part of our family.

Don't they just look so happy?  Congratulations!!
We got a special treat on their wedding day because Josh got to call home from the MTC to let us know that he had been temporarily reassigned to the San Antonio, TX, mission while he waits for his visa.  Aunt Julie (who lives in San Antonio) was super excited and hopes she runs into him while he's there.  :-)

Aunt Julie and her 3 daughters, Kennedy, Emma and Maile came for the wedding.  It was so fun to have them here.  Cousins are AWESOME!!  Then Micah and the boys, Landon, Easton and Ashton, arrived and they spent a little time with us too.  We sure love the Bahr family!!

Then we got to have Christmas which was so fun.  We missed Jared and Tori who were on their honeymoon in San Francisco and we missed Josh who was in the MTC but we were glad to have Grandma Ginia with us this year.

 Fun, Fun, Fun!!

A few days after Christmas, on December 28, we celebrated Adam's 8th birthday!  Woohoo.  He got to have breakfast in bed (because that starts on your 8th birthday in our family) and then we invited a bunch of his friends to go to the trampoline place near here.  After loads of fun there, we came back to the house for pizza, ice cream and presents.  What more could a little boy ask for?

Sometime in the month of December we managed to go skiing a few times too!

That finishes up our year and now we are on to 2013!  Wow!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
