Grandpa Turns 90!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY

My dad, Reed A Hill, turns 90 years old today, April 15th, 2013.  We celebrated yesterday with a big family birthday party at our house.  We had a great time and loved hearing some of Dad's stories from his youth.  What a great example of love and faithfulness to all of us.  We missed those few who couldn't come but were so glad that Roger flew out from West Virginia and Shawna and Jeff drove out from California.  All of mom and dad's kids were here and many grandkids and great grandkids.  Even Nathan and Emily drove 12 hours to be here too. We're so glad they came!   Fun times!!

Rebecca Turned 12 on April 8th

Rebecca has been celebrating since March 7th when she went to Whistler for her 12-year-old trip.  We finally finished things up with her birthday dinner and root beer floats.  HAPPY BIRTHDAY REBECCA!!
She went to Young Women's last night for the first time and I think she really liked it. It's always so nice to graduate from Primary and move on.

Easter Morning

It seems that I forgot to post Easter morning.  Maybe because David and I returned home late Saturday night from New York City and I was a bit tired.  We had a great time though and were glad to have Jared and Tori with us too.

We have a tradition of gathering at the top of the stairs before we go look for the eggs.  I usually take a picture once everyone is there.  Well for some reason, people were really SLOW in gathering so I kind of took pictures as people joined.  It started with Adam, bright eyed and ready to go.
Then Rachel joined.
Rebecca finally decided to crawl out of bed.
Jared and Tori arrived a few minutes later.
Last but not least, Tanner.

Adam was very patient and waited a long time for everyone and then the Easter egg hunt was on!!

Church was fantastic as always and then we got to go down to Provo for Tiffany's farewell.  She is leaving for Taiwan on her mission in a few weeks.  We had Easter dinner at Terry's and it was truly a nice Easter Sabbath.  I'm so thankful for the Savior and the atonement.  I think it is fitting that his picture is hanging on the wall behind everyone at the top of the stairs.  After all, HE is what Easter is all about.

Rachel Gets 2nd Place in District Basketball 3 on 3 Tournament

You may be a bit surprised to see Rachel with a basketball trophy instead of a soccer trophy.  Frankly, I was too.  She and her two friends entered the district 3 on 3 basketball tournament representing their middle school.  When she told me I said, "but I thought you hate basketball".  She said, "I do, but they needed someone to play with them and so I'm going to."

So I went to watch and she was really pretty good, especially for not really ever playing except a little bit in the back yard with her dad.  I was even more amazed when they came in 2nd Place.  Pretty awesome.  Go Rachel!!

On the way to the car afterwards, I was telling her that I was really impressed and she played really well.  She looked at me and said, "I still hate basketball."  Whatever.
