A Wonderful Easter Sunday

We had a wonderful Easter weekend. We colored eggs.... lots of them. Then Sunday morning everyone got to hunt for them. As always, they were all found very quickly. I think next year the Easter bunny will have to hide them in very, very, very hard places.

After a wonderful church service, we had my whole family come to dinner plus 3 missionaries. It was a full house with 27 people but we had a great time together. I'm so glad that we could all get together.

Since it is SNOWING today... yes, that's right, snowing...(just a little and it certainly isn't sticking to the ground but it is pretty cold), I decided to post some pictures from the tulip festival that I went to last week. I invited mom and dad and Christian to come too. We rented a little cart that mom and dad got to ride on since it is quite a long walk. It was really beautiful but many of the tulips were not blooming yet because it has been so cold. I was planning to go back today to see more blooming but the weather is horrible. Hopefully it will warm up in the next few days and I can go see ALL the tulips in bloom. In the meantime I will have to enjoy spring on my computer. :)

Family Games

We love playing games as a family and one of Joshua's favorites is Settlers of Catan. Rachel and Rebecca had never played and Tanner isn't a big fan but we convinced everyone to give it a try and we had a great time. David won - First time ever!! If you see his hand in a bandage, he's ok now. He did something to his thumb and it was very, very painful but not broken so it was immobilized for a few days and now it is fine.

While we were playing Settlers, I was fiddling with this little brain teaser game that I used to play all the time as a kid. I don't ever remember being able to solve it though until this time. When mom and dad moved to Utah, I inherited this game and I finally solved it. I matched all the numbers. Yeah for me. :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!! - #88

My dad turned 88 years old last Friday, April 15th. David and I got to spend some time with him and mom on Saturday up at Sundance Ski Resort where we had a wonderful dinner together to celebrate. It was really great and I loved hearing some more about my dad's life. He is an amazing man and I really admire and love him so much. His health is good and I hope we get to celebrate many more birthdays with him.

Spring has Sprung and so has Soccer

Despite the continued snow flurries and cold weather, the flowers are determined to bloom and I think they are just beautiful.

Along with the flowers comes the soccer season in full force. Here are some pictures of Adam playing with the Blue Sharks. Check back soon for some pictures of Rachel, Rebecca and Tanner. 4 kids in soccer means I spend a lot of time in the car and sitting on the field but it sure is fun to watch them play.

Court of Honor

Last Sunday we went to a Court of Honor where Tanner received his Life Rank and a bunch of merit badges and Joshua received a bunch of merit badges. They are both very close to getting their Eagle. Congratulations on your progress boys!!

A Birthday!!

Guess who this cute little girl is? REBECCA!! She turned 10 years old today and it seems like it was just yesterday that I had this picture taken of her. I remember that she cried and cried and would have nothing to do with the photographer. She wouldn't sit still and kept trying to get to me. Finally she was happy for a few moments while holding my car keys (you can see them in her hands) so the photographer got a quick snapshot of her cute smile and a little bit of a runny nose from crying.

Photobucket

This morning I was able to catch another quick snapshot of Rebecca smiling. We woke her up with singing and breakfast in bed. She opened presents and decided it was OK that we all woke her up even though she was really tired. :) Her hair is a bit of a mess but I think that makes her all the more cute.

This afternoon she and a few friends are going to go to the trampoline place for a while and then we will have pizza and ice cream (no cake for Rebecca... her choice) at our house.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY REBECCA!!
WE SURE LOVE YOU!!

Welcome Back Snow

Since winter is back and there's snow on the ground, we decided to take advantage of it and go skiing one more time. I took Adam, Rachel and Rebecca at lunch time and we skied for the afternoon. It was a beautiful day and the snow was great. Right near the end of the day, the kids decided the snow looked so great that we needed to actually stop skiing and play in it. So we took off our skis and rolled down the hill, threw snowballs at each other, and Rachel built a little snowman. I think the people skiing by us thought we were crazy but we were having fun.

Winter is Back!

I knew that the weather was just teasing us. It was 72 degrees yesterday and 31 degrees with lots of snow today. It's been snowing all morning and it is really beautiful. I may just have to play hooky tomorrow and go skiing. :)

I hope all my beautiful daffodils survive. So many were blooming yesterday afternoon and now they are covered in a foot of snow.

HAPPY SPRING!!

The Promise of Spring

This is one of the first daffodils that bloomed in my yard. My crocus are just about done and there are tons of daffodil buds. The tulips are leafing out really well and I can't wait to see them all bloom in a few more weeks.

The weather has been unseasonably warm the last few days so I have been out mowing the lawn, cleaning up winter debris and I even planted some lettuce and peas in my garden. As is always the case, spring arrives with a teaser and then it gets all cold and snowy for a few more weeks in April. We'll have to see what happens. No matter what though, spring will come sooner or later and in the mean time, I will patiently watch the flowers get ready to bloom. :)

HAPPY SPRING!!
