Sedona, Arizona

David and I went on one last little trip before he "goes back to work for 20 more years".  LOL  We headed down to Sedona, Arizona, to stay in a resort in Boynton Canyon.  It was beautiful and relaxing.  I think we're almost ready to get back to the real world of WORK..... Almost.   David starts his new job next Monday so we still have a few more days of fun.

Another Day in Paradise

Just a few pictures from when we went skiing a few weeks ago.  It is paradise to me.  :-)

Adam is just resting.
These pictures are taken with a GoPro so they have this rounded effect from the fish eye lense.

These 2 pictures are me (Gaylene) and the one below probably needs an explanation.  It was that wonderful day we went just after a big snow storm so there was a lot of deep powder.  We kind of got stuck and had to go through some trees to get back to the regular runs but it was so deep that Rebecca couldn't get out (snowboards are harder in the powder than skis).  I finally skied out, took off my skis and got Rachel to do the same.  We hiked back into the trees to help Rebecca.  While we were doing that, we stopped to have a snowball fight and roll around a bit.  It was fun....well, Rachel and I thought it was fun but Rebecca was pretty frustrated.

"Our Cup Runneth Over"

This past week has been amazing.  We just kept getting good news all week long!

First, we found out that Jared got a job he had been interviewing for and will be headed back to our home town of San Jose, CA, to work for PWC.  Woohoo!!  Congratulations Jared and Tori!

Then Tanner received his acceptance letter to BYU.  We were celebrating at the Powell house!  Congratulations Tanner!!

Tanner has had tryouts this past week for soccer at his high school.  Another congratulations are in order since he made the Varsity Soccer team at Corner Canyon High School.  Good job Tanner!!

Last but not least, David got a very good job offer on Friday evening !  Congratulations David!!

To finish off the week, David took me to see Brian Regan in concert.  He gave me the tickets for Valentine's Day!   It was the best!!  I would highly recommend his show to anyone and everyone.  I haven't ever laughed so much for so long.

We have been so blessed.  All we can do is be VERY THANKFUL to Heavenly Father.

10" of New Powder, What Could Be Better?

What could be better?  11" of new powder, a beautiful sunny morning, and a day off school.  Gaylene, Rachel, Rebecca and Adam loaded up the car and headed to the slopes once again.  The new powder was deep and fluffy and awesome!!  We had a great time.
