Happy Halloween

I can tell that I am getting old when I only have one child left who dresses up for Halloween for school.  We didn't even carve pumpkins this year.  I bought one today (yes, on Halloween) so in case Adam thinks of it, I will have one available to carve.  The poor youngest child.  We did have our Halloween dinner last night though, which is a tradition, complete with Swamp Juice, Blood and Guts and Skull Rolls.  Here is a picture of Adam in his costume before he left for school.

This week they also had CRAZY HAIR day.  This is what Adam did for crazy hair but he took out the front 2 pony tails before he got to school because he thought he looked too much like a girl.  He took them all out by the time he got to lunch because he said he was getting a headache.  Hahaha.  Girls put up with so much to look cute.

Exploring Southern Utah

The kids had a couple of days off school in the middle of October so we decided to take a little trip to explore this beautiful state that we live in.  We rented a tent trailer and headed south.  We had a great time seeing the sights and the tent trailer was awesome (especially since it had a heater and it was cold at night).

Here are some pictures of the places we explored!

CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARK

NATURAL BRIDGES NATIONAL MONUMENT

MONUMENT VALLEY

FOUR CORNERS

MONTICELLO TEMPLE (The kids did baptisms)

NEWSPAPER ROCK
Mexican Restaurant in MOAB, UTAH
DEAD HORSE POINT STATE PARK
CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK

ARCHES NATIONAL PARK

Yes, we did all that in about 3 1/2 days.  Next time we will definitely take along some bikes for the Moab area and we will go when there is no moon.  That was the only thing I was disappointed about.  There was a full moon every night so I really didn't get to see the spectacular stars.  It is ranked the 2nd best place in America to see the stars behind Alaska.  Next time.....

And She's Driving.....

She passed the test and drove home from the DMV.  Rachel is one happy 15-year-old, permit-holding, driver.

Rachel Turned 15..... 10 days ago!!!

We did celebrate Rachel's birthday but I just haven't got around to posting it yet.  She chose to have banana cream pie instead of cake so she is having birthday pie.  She is now eagerly awaiting the day I take her to the DMV to get her driver's permit (I think we are doing that tomorrow).

Imagine Dragons

Vivint has a big company party every year after the summer sales season is over.  This year they had a private concert for all Vivint employees at the Energy Solutions Arena.  And the band performing was.... IMAGINE DRAGONS!!!    We were lucky enough to get backstage passes so all the kids got their picture taken with the band before they performed and then we had great seats right in the center about 8 rows back from the stage.  It was a really fun evening for all.

Tanner and Emily were the only ones with backstage passes at first, but then we got more.  So they got to get a picture with just them and then they joined everyone for the other picture.

Powderpuff Football

Rachel played in the high school Powderpuff Flag Football tournament.  Her team didn't make it to the finals but she did really well.  She even caught a punt and ran it all the way back for a touchdown.  Woohoo!!

I don't have a very good picture because my iphone died and I didn't have another camera with me, but I did get one of their team getting ready for the game.  Rachel is the one in the front with her back to me.

Homecoming

Last Saturday was Homecoming for Corner Canyon High School.  Tanner and his date, Emily, went with 7 other couples.  They went out to dinner first and then to the dance.  From the pictures David took, I think they had a fun time.
