Rachel Wins at St. George Tournament

Last weekend was the Icebreakers Soccer Tournament in St. George.  I took Rachel down along with another player and her mom.  Rachel had 2 games on Saturday and then 1 game on Monday.  I decided to only stay for Saturday and another player who couldn't play on Saturday would go down on Monday to play in that game.  So off we went with 1 days worth of clothes.

Then Rachel's team won both games on Saturday (Rachel scored 2 goals).  Rachel was elated and really wanted to stay for the Monday game because if they won, they would play in the finals on Monday afternoon.  So, we all went shopping for a dress since we didn't bring any church clothes and we went to church on Sunday and then Rachel got to play on Monday,

Rachel's team won 1-0 with Rachel making the goal.  They would move on to the finals!!

The final game ended with a score of 0-0.  Oh my goodness.  They went into sudden death overtime which means the first goal wins.  RACHEL SCORED THE FIRST GOAL AND THEIR TEAM WON!!!!   One of the most exciting games I've watched in a long time.  Below is a pictured of Rachel's very happy face.  I wish I had gotten pictures of her just after the goal.  She was so happy and her whole team ran to her and they were all hugging and cheering.  Quite exciting!  Good Job Rachel.

Baptism in San Jose

David and I made a quick trip to San Jose so David could baptize a long-time friend, Susan.  The baptism was so wonderful.  The Spirit was strong and it was very uplifting.  I wish we could attend baptisms all the time because they are so great.

Here is a picture of David and me with Susan just after her baptism.

And here is a picture of the place that sells the best doughnuts in the whole entire world.  Yes, we brought a dozen back to Utah with us and they were absolutely delicious.  I cannot find any like them anywhere except at this Sputniks Doughnuts on the corner of Almaden Expy and Curtner in San Jose.

We also found time to visit with my sister, Shawna, and her family and also David's sister and mom.

I'm so glad we got to go and be a part of Susan's baptism.  She is a wonderful lady and I'm just so happy for her.
