NO MORE BRACES!!!

Adam got his braces off this week and he is loving his slimy teeth.  It's amazing that I have no children wearing braces now.  At one point I had 5 children in braces.  Just one more phase with Adam and hopefully we are done until the next generation.  I'm still hoping for an orthodontist in the family.  :-)

Making A Difference

Today was the culmination of a 4-month long humanitarian project that our whole stake was doing.  Each ward was assigned different things to complete over the past 4 months and then today we all met at the stake center to assemble, sew, quilt, sort, etc.  It was an absolutely amazing project!!!  I wish I had some pictures of the activity at the stake center because it's really hard to picture.  But we had 11 quilt frames set up with quilts being tied.  People were filling 1500 bags with corn feed to make heating packs for the Huntsman Cancer Center (it was over a ton of corn feed).  Fleece blankets were being tied together for various shelters.  Cards and large print hymn books were being made for various Assisted Living Centers.  Hats were being crocheted for little kids and babies.  Thousands of clothes (new and used) were being sorted by gender and size to give to several different women and infant shelters and other shelters in the area including the Road Home and the Asian Refugee Center.  Personal Hygiene supplies were sorted and boxed up to take to the Asian Refugee Center.  At least 75 quilts were collected as well to donate to the previously mentioned places.

Our ward was in charge of making (tying) 20 quilts.  We ended up doing 22 plus 11 baby quilts.  Woohoo.  Since I was in charge of coordinating everything for our ward, I had all the quilts at my house before I took them to the stake center and I took a few pictures.  See collage below.

It was a great activity and I was so glad to be a part of it.

Adam's 10th Birthday Party

Adam turned 10 on December 28th.  He wanted to have a Minute to Win It Birthday Party but the holidays were a little hectic so we had it this past Saturday, January 10th.  He invited 18 boys to come (15 actually came) so we had a crazy full basement with lots of noise.  But the boys had a great time and David was fabulous at running the show.  We had an ice cream cake from Coldstone Creamery which was delicious.  Hope you enjoy this little slideshow of all the action.
