Tie Dye

We've been having a busy and fun summer. Yesterday we made tie dye shirts and it was so fun. It was kind of like Christmas since you never quite know how each shirt will turn out. Then you take off all the rubber bands and open it up and voila - a fun, crazy shirt.

amazing results! Cool patterns, vibrant colors, wow! What's you''re technique? traditional tying and dipping?
we have tie-dying on our list of summer activities. I usually dilute fabric paint with water and put in spray bottles and then spray different parts of the shirt once it's all rubber-banded up.

I have been searching for something that would give us bright colors. They always end up so washed out and faded looking. I found a great kit online at Amazon.com called Tie Dye Kit by Jacquard. It was easy and fun and the kids loved doing it.
