First Day of School

The day after Boston was born was the first day of school.  Adam started 4th grade and was happy to see lots of friends in his class.

I've been told that pink socks are the in thing right now.  ;-)

Rebecca started 8th grade and wasn't too happy about getting up so early, but she does like her classes this year.

Rachel started 11th grade and is already keeping busy with a heavy class load which means lots of homework.

You may be wondering why it took me a week to post pictures of the first day of school.  Well, I headed to California the day after school started to help Jared and Tori with Boston.  Therefore, I must add some pictures here of the cutest little baby ever!!!   I promise I will try not to fill up my whole blog with baby pictures but I just can't decide which ones are the best so I ended up including a lot.  :-)

 

 

Welcome to the Family!!

Boston Reed Powell was born to Jared and Tori Powell this morning, August 19, 2014.  I think he was born around 1:45 am and all went well with both mom and baby.  He was 7 lbs. 9 ozs. and was 20 1/2 inches long.  My heart is just bursting with love for this little grandson that I haven't even met yet!!  Congratulations to Jared and Tori.  Love you both so much.

Just In Case You Haven't Heard.....

I figure everyone who sees this blog already knows that Tanner got his mission call to Lisbon, Portugal.  But, just in case you haven't heard, I wanted to be sure to post the news.  He will go into the MTC on December 17th and he will be learning to speak Portuguese.  The funny thing is that we are actually traveling to Portugal for 3 days when we go to pick up Josh from his mission in Spain in October.  I guess we'll have to stop by the mission office and say "hi".  :-)

Yellowstone Trip

We took a little road trip to Yellowstone last week and had a great time!!!  Tanner had to work and had some other things going on so he didn't go.  We missed him!  We saw lots of animals, geysers, mud pots, hot springs, trees, trees, and more trees.  It really is a spectacular place and we had a fun time together.
