President's Weekend Soccer Tournaments

We had a weekend FULL of soccer.  Rachel headed down to Mesquite, NV, with her team for the President's Cup starting Thursday.  She had been really sick on Wednesday and wasn't feeling great on Thursday but she went anyway.  She was on antibiotics for strep but the culture came back negative for that.  She played pretty well considering she wasn't feeling great.  Their team didn't make it to the finals so she headed back to Draper with her team on Sunday.

David, Rebecca, Adam and I headed down late Thursday night so we could watch Rachel's game on Friday.  Then Adam and Rebecca started their tournaments on Saturday.  Adam was supposed to be playing in the Silver division but they didn't have enough teams in the Gold division and Adam's team was the best of the Silver so they got moved up.  Bummer!!  They ended up losing all their games since they were playing a division up.  Oh well.  It was good experience.

Rebecca's team did great!  They won their first 2 games with shutouts which put them in first place.  She scored 2 of the 3 goals in the first 2 games!!   They lost their semi-final on Monday though so we headed home a little earlier than we had hoped for.

We got to spend a little bit of time seeing the area.  We drove through Snow Canyon which was really pretty and had some great bike paths.  Next year I think we'll take all our bikes so we can go do that.  We also took a tour of the St. George Tabernacle which was pretty amazing.  And of course, the temple was beautiful and the ward we visited was great.

We stayed in a hotel with Adam's team so he got to spend a lot of time hangin' out with his team mates at the pool which he loved.
