The Red Moon
Did you see the Lunar Eclipse last night? It was happening around 1:15 am. Tanner was taking pictures of it, Rachel woke up (with an alarm) to see it, and she woke me up to see it. It was pretty cool so I woke up Rebecca and she looked out the window and said it looked cool. I think she was back to sleep in about 10 seconds flat. Then I woke up Adam. He was very sleepy so I got him up, put on his robe, had him walk downstairs and out onto the front porch to look at it. I figured the cold air would be sure to wake him up. He looked up at the eclipse and said, "WOW, that's cool." Then, since it was cold, we went back inside and he headed back to bed. This morning when I got up, he was quite upset that nobody woke him up to see the eclipse. We reminded him that he did go outside to see it but he can't remember any of it. What a bummer. Here are a couple of pictures that Tanner took of the eclipse.
Pinewood Derby
Yep, another Pinewood Derby has come and gone. Rachel and David helped Adam shape his car using tools in the wood shop over at the high school. Since Rachel took Wood Shop last semester, she has an "in" with the teacher. It looked awesome and then Adam painted it and they added the wheels. The races were fun but Adam didn't win. :-( He did receive a trophy for the Cubmaster's Choice though which was pretty cool.

Sedona, Arizona
David and I went on one last little trip before he "goes back to work for 20 more years". LOL We headed down to Sedona, Arizona, to stay in a resort in Boynton Canyon. It was beautiful and relaxing. I think we're almost ready to get back to the real world of WORK..... Almost. David starts his new job next Monday so we still have a few more days of fun.

Another Day in Paradise
Just a few pictures from when we went skiing a few weeks ago. It is paradise to me. :-)
Adam is just resting.
These pictures are taken with a GoPro so they have this rounded effect from the fish eye lense.
These 2 pictures are me (Gaylene) and the one below probably needs an explanation. It was that wonderful day we went just after a big snow storm so there was a lot of deep powder. We kind of got stuck and had to go through some trees to get back to the regular runs but it was so deep that Rebecca couldn't get out (snowboards are harder in the powder than skis). I finally skied out, took off my skis and got Rachel to do the same. We hiked back into the trees to help Rebecca. While we were doing that, we stopped to have a snowball fight and roll around a bit. It was fun....well, Rachel and I thought it was fun but Rebecca was pretty frustrated.

"Our Cup Runneth Over"
This past week has been amazing. We just kept getting good news all week long!
First, we found out that Jared got a job he had been interviewing for and will be headed back to our home town of San Jose, CA, to work for PWC. Woohoo!! Congratulations Jared and Tori!
Then Tanner received his acceptance letter to BYU. We were celebrating at the Powell house! Congratulations Tanner!!
Tanner has had tryouts this past week for soccer at his high school. Another congratulations are in order since he made the Varsity Soccer team at Corner Canyon High School. Good job Tanner!!
Last but not least, David got a very good job offer on Friday evening ! Congratulations David!!
To finish off the week, David took me to see Brian Regan in concert. He gave me the tickets for Valentine's Day! It was the best!! I would highly recommend his show to anyone and everyone. I haven't ever laughed so much for so long.
We have been so blessed. All we can do is be VERY THANKFUL to Heavenly Father.

10" of New Powder, What Could Be Better?
What could be better? 11" of new powder, a beautiful sunny morning, and a day off school. Gaylene, Rachel, Rebecca and Adam loaded up the car and headed to the slopes once again. The new powder was deep and fluffy and awesome!! We had a great time.
