Prom Pictures
We got the pictures from Joshua's Prom and they look great. I had to scan them so they don't look as good as the original but I think you'll get the idea. :)

Prom
I have been waiting to post this for a few days hoping to get a picture to post with it. No such luck yet. I will post pictures as soon as I get some.
Josh went to his Senior Prom last weekend. He went to Alta High School's prom with a big group of kids. He took a girl, Jane, that he knows from Itineris and he said they had a great time! The group rented a limo so they could all ride together and once everybody was picked up, they went to dinner at Tuscany's. I've never been there but Josh said it was really nice. After dinner they headed to the prom which was at the state capitol building. After the dance, the limo made the rounds dropping everyone off and Josh was home by midnight. Good job!
Now around here it is tradition to also do a "day activity" in conjunction with the prom. Since the prom was on a Friday and they had school, they decided to do the day activity on Saturday. So the next morning, they all went up to a cabin of one of the boys. They had a big breakfast, went snowmobiling and sledding, had lunch, and watched a movie. WOW! We never did dates like that.
It sounds like they all had a great time and I can't wait to see the pictures :)

Jackson Hole, Wyoming
David and I got to go spend a couple of days in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, complements of Vivint. Gotta love that company. We stayed at a very nice place called Amangani's (notice the picture of the pool below). Yes, I did go swimming and it was fabulous. The pool was so warm and the jacuzzi was even warmer. :)
We went skiing at Teton Village and we couldn't have asked for a better day. It was beautiful and we had a great time, although we are not used to skiing that long and that hard because we usually get to stop when Adam gets tired. We were a bit sore the next day but it was a good kind of sore.

Peanut Butter Covered Bananas
You've all heard of and probably had chocolate-covered bananas. Delicious!! Here's a twist, peanut butter covered bananas. Rachel wanted to make a peanut butter banana sandwich which is her favorite. She gets out the peanut butter and a banana and the next thing I know, she's spreading peanut butter all over the banana. Forget the bread! She said it was the best banana she has ever had.

Meet Ace
I would like to introduce our newly adopted dog.... Ace.

Rebecca and a few other kids in the family have been asking for a dog for years. I was always very opposed and so was David. Too many kids to worry about adding a dog. Then for some strange reason I started thinking about my little dog when I was a kid and how much I loved having a dog. Suddenly I wanted a dog. Rebecca and I secretly started looking at dogs a few months ago. Finally I broached the subject with David and he was floored. He wanted to know why I wanted a dog. I thought about it a lot and decided that this is my mid-life crisis. I am trying to get back to the days of my childhood, happy and carefree playing with my dog. :) Besides, I don't have any little babies anymore to take care of so maybe this is filling the void.
To be honest, I don't know why I now want a dog when I haven't wanted one for so long. Anyway, David finally gave the OK as long as it didn't come in the house (he and some of the kids are allergic) and as long as it didn't bark and whine all the time. Rebecca and I went to the shelter to see what they had. We were looking for kind of a medium to small dog. We found Ace.... a big golden lab and he was so adorable that we went back the next day and picked him up. He is about 1 1/2 years old, very well-behaved, and NEVER barks. He has not barked once. He is really good with kids, loves playing fetch with them and running around with them. He's really obedient and as far as I can tell, he is almost the perfect dog. Ok, so I fell in love with him the minute I saw him but really, he is a good dog.
Those in the family who don't like dogs are tolerating him and being good sports, the rest of us are having a great time. We've got the garage all cleaned up and a nice area for him. We even have it heated right now so he won't get cold on these snowy nights. We can take him back within 30 days but so far I don't think that's going to happen. Hopefully all will keep going well and he'll remain in the family for years to come.
