4th of July Fun

Sorry this is kind of old news but I just haven't had time to post.

We had a great 4th of July. We did fireworks the day before and the day after the 4th since we went to the Stadium of Fire show in Provo courtesy of David's new company, APX Alarm. In the morning we had a neighborhood parade and a delicious pancake breakfast. In the afternoon, we went down to Provo a little early and had dinner with Curtis and his family.... always lots of fun. Then we went to the stadium for the show. SheDaisy performed and so did the Jonas Brothers as well as lots of other entertainment. It was actually very good... and I even quite liked the Jonas Brothers. It was so funny to hear all the teenage girls in the stadium screaming and singing. I've never been to a concert and it was quite a show... both performers and audience were fun to watch.

Hope you enjoy my few pictures of the day. I still can't get sparkler pictures to work well. Some day I will figure out how to do that.

Ryan Powell's Family Came for a Visit

It was so fun to have David's brother, Ryan, and family come to visit for a few days just before the 4th of July.  They even brought their cute little dog, Merry.  She is the best behaved dog I have ever seen and oh so cute.

Leah gave Merry lots of hugs.... she must love her.
Adam and Matthew had a good time with Merry too.  I think Matthew especially liked all our legos in the basement.
Rebecca and Leah
We had a great family baseball game in the backyard.  Tennis balls are a lot easier to hit a long ways than regular baseballs.
Cade and Rachel
Heather had a good hit.
Seth playing catcher and Joshua getting ready to hit.
Baseball didn't quite wear everyone out... so they started a game of football in the street.
Ryan getting ready to make a touchdown pass.
Thanks to Ryan, Heather, Seth, Cade, Leah, Matthew and Merry for coming to visit.  Please come again soon and hopefully we'll get down to visit you when your temperatures get a little cooler.  :)

Proud Parents

Krispy and Oreo are proud new parents of about 11 new little mice. I think they are a little ugly but Rebecca thinks they are awesome. Rice is still pregnant and will probably give birth in a few more days. Anybody want a pet mouse?

South & North

Tanner and David headed south with the Deacons to do some rafting and hiking in the Moab area. Here they are ready to get started.

Tanner is the one in the front on the right. Actually the one on the left in the front is a Tanner also. You may find it interesting that there were actually 4 boys named Tanner on this trip.... and we thought we were so original when we picked that name. Oh well.Photobucket

They went on a hike and obviously saw lots of RED rock.Photobucket

Joshua headed north to Wyoming with the Teachers during the same few days. They went to a scout camp up there and it was snowing when they arrived. What a bummer. It rained all day the next day but then it cleared up and they had a great time. Wish I had some pictures but David wasn't on that trip.

A Lot Can Happen in a Week

Sorry this is going to be kind of a long one. It seems that life is just getting busier and busier.

CAMP ALMA

Our stake had a 2 day mission preparation conference for all young men 16 to 18 years old. I understand it was great. Jared went and David went as a leader. Oh... Jared's papers are in and he should have a mission call in about 2 weeks. Oh my goodness!! How exciting!!

YOUTH CONFERENCE

Then Jared came home and youth conference started for all the kids 14 to 18 years of age. It lasted 3 days and was held at the U of U. Joshua said it was great and David said it was really good too but he wished he could've had a little more sleep.

NEW FENCE

We're also getting a fence put in. If it would just stop raining for a little while, maybe they could finish.

OQUIRRH MOUNTAIN TEMPLE

We went to the Oquirrh (even Rebecca can spell that now) Mountain Temple Open House today. It was so beautiful. The colors inside were just gorgeous and you just can't believe the chandeliers. I couldn't even begin to describe them. Of course they are huge but as you look up at them they are in the shape of stars. Words just can't do it justice. Here's a picture that shows the chandelier and I think you can see the star shape.

Weather

The house that is at the beginning of the video is behind our house and over one. I still think it was a tornado.
